Undergraduate Internship & Placement Student Opportunity

sales and marketing assistant, from 1st february 2011 for 6 months
Job Description:
· Maintaining, designing and updating e-commerce site using easy-to-use off the shelf software (training will be provided)
· Taking sales calls
· Assisting in the development of new online marketing opportunities
· Editing monthly e-newsletter
· Promoting company offers via email shots and promotional literature
· Processing online and telephone orders
· Customer service
· Telephone reception
· The successful candidate will be working 40 hours a week in an office environment although clerical tasks at the warehouse are included at times.
· You will be overlapping with an existing placement student for 2 weeks before she leaves. Our previous placement students have been from Poland, France, Germany & Holland and we have been really impressed with their work.

Essential requirements:
· Good written and spoken English
· Computer literacy
· Accuracy
· Numeracy
· Customer service orientation
· Good communication skills
· Enthusiasm and energy
· Own initiative and teamwork skills
· After an initial period of training, you will find yourself in the position of running the office.

Desirable attributes:
· Polish speaker, our current students are from Poland, this will make the training easier, this is however not essential.
· Interest in e-commerce

Company activity:
· Company is an online retailer of garden and conservatory furniture
· The successful candidate will be working in a small family company alongside company director.

Location:
· Rowington is a small rural town 10 Miles from Leamington Spa and Stratford Upon Avon.
· Good transport links to Stratford, Coventry, Leamington and Birmingham
· Surrounding cities offer wide range of activities ranging from cultural attractions to great shopping facilities and busy nightlife
· Area is popular among placement students and there is a possibility to socialize and create a network of international friends
· The candidate can choose to live in Leamington Spa, which is a lively centre offering good social, leisure and cultural amenities and good links to London and other major UK cities.

Remuneration details:
· Allowance of £500 a month will be provided to cover accomodation and subsistence. Return Train fares from Leamington Spa to Lapworth station will be paid for.

Placement agreement
· You will be required to provide us with a placement agreement before starting your placement. A placement agreement defines your status as a trainee undertaking a placement as part of studies and states the job description and dates of the placement. It is signed by you, your university and us. Ask your placement officer for a form, most academic institutions have one.

Are you able to apply ?
· All placements are open to any EU undergraduate, or graduate studying for a further degree, with a valid EU, EEA or EFTA passport.
Your academic institution must cover you with a placement agreement for the whole duration of the placement.
